Rain has returned to flood-soaked Auckland overnight and is approaching MetService’s warning levels — which could bring even more flooding to the drenched city and trigger further landslides.

MetService last night said total rainfall in the eastern parts of the city overnight and this morning “could approach the reduced warning criteria”.
